What smrtr keeps about your family, why, and how to have it removed. Updated October 24, 2026.

What we collect

A household signs up with one email address and a password. We store the address, a one-way hash of the password, and the times and devices you sign in from.

Each learner you add has a first name (or whatever you type) and a grade. Learners have no email address and no password of their own; a parent's login is the only way in, and we never contact a learner directly.

As a learner practices, we record every answer: which question, what was submitted, whether it was right, and when. That record is what makes the explanations, the review page and the practice history work.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We store the identifier Stripe gives your household and a record of each charge; we never see or store a card number.

Asking for an invite on the smrtr website takes only an email address. We keep it to send one message when a place in the beta opens, and nothing else. Email us and we remove it.

Children

smrtr is for students in grades 5 through 9, many of them under 13. Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian, who adds each learner and can rename or remove them at any time. We collect nothing from a learner beyond the name and grade the parent entered and the answers given while practicing. We do not sell or share learner information, show advertising, or let learners communicate with anyone through the site.

How we use it

To sign you in, to choose and grade questions, to show a learner what they missed and why, to send the emails an account needs (sign-in links, password resets, trial and renewal reminders, a failed-payment notice), and to bill the subscription. Nothing else.

Who else sees it

Stripe processes payments. Resend delivers our email. Netlify hosts the smrtr website and holds invite requests. Each receives only what its job needs: Stripe your email and payment details, Resend your email address and the message, Netlify the address you leave when asking for an invite. None is permitted to use it for anything else.

Cookies

One session cookie keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Keeping it, and removing it

We keep your household's data while the account exists. Remove a learner from the account page and their practice record goes with them. To close the household entirely and have everything deleted, email us and we will confirm when it is done.
